spanish inspired contemporary home in roxborough park
This is the second house we’ve designed for this couple. Technically the 3rd. Originally they wanted a modern home for this property. Part way through design the client changed their mind so we switched gears to a Spanish Home in Roxborough. After spending more time on the property they also decided to move some rooms around. When designing a custom home it makes sense to take the time to understand the property.
site constraints
Building a Spanish Home in Roxborough home in the Colorado mountains or Front Range can be tricky. Out here the ground isn’t always flat. In fact, most of the time it isn’t. We are experts in fitting a home to a site. This particular one-half acre site has a steep slope across it. Luckily we are able to enter on the high side. That allows us to take advantage of the slope and the views.
To the east and north the property has fantastic views of the city. For this reason we placed the great room in this Roxborough Park custom home to take advantage of these evening views. We also incorporated a corner deck to take advantage of sunrises. There is no better way to wake up than watching a famous Colorado sunrise with a cup of coffee.
The southern and eastern views are captured by a sun room and an office. Once of the owners loves plants so we took the sunroom concept from the original house and incorporated it into this one. The sunroom is placed on the southeast corner to take advantage of the morning and early afternoon sun. Next to that we placed an office.

A light filled sun room is situated on the south side. This makes the space great for plants inside this Spanish Home in Roxborough. It also brings in great light throughout the day.
The last space is the master suite. This space is secluded from the rest of the home. It takes advantage of those great western views the Front Range of Colorado is known for – the mountains. The western views are dominated by open forest land that will never see structures. This is the perfect view and setting for relaxing at the end of the day.
